Lancia Beta Volumex Coupe, 1983. Amazed that my blog has just passed 25,000 followers! Thanks everyone for sticking with me. Anyway decided to devote today to one of my favourite marques, which is now near death. The supercharged version of the Lancia Beta Coupe was only in production for a year, during which time 1272 were made, making the rarest of all Betas
Lancia Gamma Coupe, 1977, by Pininfarina. The Gamma Coupe was designed by Aldo Brovarone and was powered by a 2.5 litre horizontally-opposed 4-cylinder engine. It remained in production through two generations until 1984 during which time 6,790 cars left Pininfarina’s factory. When the Thema replaced the Gamma in 1984 there was no coupe version

Fiat 130 Coupe, 1971, by Pininfarina. Designed by Paulo Martin, the 130 Coupe was in production for six years until 1977 during which time 4,491 cars were made. However it was the last large Fiat coupe and was never replaced. Fiat had taken over Lancia in 1969 and perhaps felt that the Gamma Coupe (also designed at Pininfarina) would be a natural successor
I’ve not really blogged about the 130 coupe previously though I did spot one at last year’s Paris Motor Show

Lancia Astura Aerodinamico Castagna, 1933/35. Originally crafted by Italian coachbuilder Castagna for an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Lugano, the body now sits upon a chassis of a V8-engined Lancia Astura Series 2. Remaining in Italy during WW2, the Lancia was then moved to the UK where it was restored by various owners. Its current owner acquired the car in 2006 and had it restored to original specification by specialist Paul Grist.
The Lancia will be among the cars on display at the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court, taking place September 1-3
